# Policy Engine The Policy Engine is a central component of BNDRY's orchestration capability, which automates workflows through intelligent decision-making and coordination. You can configure Policies in BNDRY based on your organisation's specific processes and tolerances that automate the necessary actions when certain conditions are met. ## Policy Inputs The Policy Engine evaluates against the following inputs: | Feature | Description | | --- | --- | | Entity Changes | Check for any material changes to an Entity including changes to ownership structure, registered address, identification details, and more. | | Activities | Evaluate against the results of Activities including Identity Verification, PEP and Sanctions Screening, and Adverse Media Screening. | | Events | Monitor events that are posted to BNDRY including transaction activity, customer activity, behavioural observations, and more. | | Schedules | Configure schedules that trigger Alerts periodically. For example, configure a schedule that triggers an Alert to conduct Ongoing Customer Due Diligence for high-risk customers yearly. | ## Policy Triggers When the evaluation criteria defined in a policy are met, the Policy Engine can trigger: | Feature | Description | | --- | --- | | Actions | Run Activities or Automations to automatically | | Alerts | Notify users of issues requiring human attention. | | Workspaces | Create Workspaces that can be used for further investigation, and/or gathering data internally or externally | The Policy Engine enables you to proactively manage compliance by turning data and events into action, automating responses where appropriate, and highlighting information that requires human attention.
